Somehow our school thought the four and five year old students at Crepia would really enjoy a trip to the Currency museum. Here we can see that my students Ricky, Jenny and Ruby really enjoy friends and cameras.

Ruby is also quite fond of green leaves. As the kids thought it was really clever to grab leaves off of the branches coming through the bus window, I was reminded of a lecture my dad gave me once about how pulling off the leaves of trees would be like someone pulling out my hair or my fingernails or something terribly morbid like that. The language barrier prevented the same lecture sinking in for Ruby.
These happen to be leaves from my favorite kind of Korean tree.

The bus rides always present an opportunity for bonding with students who usually find English to be really frustrating. This is Danny. I think to him I sound like the teacher from Charlie Brown, but on the bus we just play games and make nice gestures at eachother. We also giggle alot.
"kim chi!"

You'd never know it but this gangsta ain't frontin'. He's actually one of my best students. His name is Calvin, and even though he always has a posse backin' him up, he also always has a smile and loves to practive English.

I think this picture really captures the effect that the currency museum had on the children. After walking around and looking at lots and lots of money the kids were like wild animals! Money corrupts.

These three girls are roughly three or four years old. Kathy in the middle is trying really hard to pose for the pictue but the sun is oh so bright. Inside the museum she decided that the best way to entertain herself would be to tackle me.

Fay points at Willy's nose. Willy's mom is really proud of him. Apparently he taught himself how to read and speak in English at home. However in my class we're trying to work on general classroom etiquette. For example we're trying to curb his crayon eating habits and focus on words instead of dinosaur noises. Incidentally he just loves to talk on the phone.

This is Bunny. Bunny the biter.
Don't let the cute fool you.

Brian and Felix look like they're ready for a nap. By the end of the field trip I was too. I was so tired I fell asleep on the bus ride home, and the kids (god bless 'em) let me sleep .
